Have you ever wonder what would happen if Princess Diana was actually five drag queens? The Diana Mixtape is here to show you.

The Diana Mixtape is currently playing its limited run at ‘HERE at Outernet’ a 30 second walk (literally) from Tottenham Court Road station.

The production retells the life of Princess Diana from meeting Charles to her iconic revenge dress. It incorporates perfectly timed jokes, vocal excellence and a stage only a drag Queen could commend.

The role of Diana is taken on by powerhouses Courtney Act, Divina De Campo, Priyanka, Rosé and Kitty Scott-Claus. Each bringing their own to Diana and having the time to shine individually in their own moments on stage.

The cast continue with Keala Settle playing Queen Elizabeth II. She blows audiences away with her performance of ‘Commander’ and having the whole room in stitches for her performance of ‘Mother.’

Charles is played by Noel Sullivan and Lucinda Lawrence who both embody the characters. They have the audience laughing during their rendition of ‘The One That Got Away’. Rounding out the cast are the dancers Ashton Bradley, Jordan Jewell, Henry Chatfield, Theo Simpson and Leo Udvarlaky, who keep the stage energetic with every dance move.

The show references current pop culture trends such as the Labubu craze that has taken over everyone’s bags and the ‘Jet 2 Holiday’ sound that can be found on everyone’s phones. While also referencing iconic Diana moments such as the aforementioned revenge dress but also direct quotes from her.

The number ‘angel of my dreams’ is a particular stand out, as the audience watches Diana’s iconic wedding dress be built around Rosé piece by piece.

Adam Nightingale takes on the task of video director, tying the show together, creating a scene around the queens and fully transporting the audience into the space. Nightingale’s videography perfectly shows off where each scene takes place and creates fun, lively atmosphere to accompany everything going on, from classrooms to beaches and parks he creates a phenomenal stage. Nightingale deserves endless praise for what he’s created.

A word of caution to anyone possibly suffering from back pain - standing for 90 min straight can take its toll. However the space is large enough to allow some movement between songs, having the bar open during the performance lets audience members stretch their legs if needed.  There are also many seated options available - when booking - for those patrons who would rather be closer to the action or are aware they cannot stand for the duration of the performance.

The Diana Mixtape is perfect for anyone who is a fan of drag queen shows, the people’s princess herself or anyone up for a good night.
